All, The Challenges

Voulez-vous camembert avec moi?

Oui. Je veux. Or at least I will try. Liz made up this recipe in her head because le camembert was calling her name. I like all kinds of cheeses so I was up for the challenge. I ended up liking this dish a lot. It was very easy to make and was super delicious. Once Liz sent me her photo, it was clear why le camembert had been calling her name: Liz‘ mom has a cheese box collection with monks on them! Nowadays that tradition has faded and these are very hard to find. What a good thing Liz documented the rare collection! Et voila, la recette:

Potato Gratin with Camembert

Pour 2 personnes:

300g potatoes (2 large ones)
1 garlic clove
400ml milk
some butter
some grated cheese
et bien sure: le camembert

Cut the potatoes into thin slices and bring them to a boil with the milk. Add salt, pepper, nutmeg and minced garlic and let simmer for about 5mins. Don’t forget to frequently stir otherwise the milk will burn on the bottom of the pot. Preheat the oven to 350° Fahrenheit. Grease up a deep dish with some butter and layer the potatoes in there. Once the dish is filled add the milk from the pot and the grated cheese as well. Bake everything for about 15 mins. Take the dish out and layer the camembert slices on top of it. Bake for another 10-15mins.

Et voila! C’est ca!
